Tottenham Hotspur have two separate bids for Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence turned down, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly had two separate bids for Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence turned down by the Championship outfit.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and has been in impressive form for the Reds, scoring once and providing two assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.

According to ESPN journalist James Olley, Spurs have submitted two offers for the defender, but Middlesbrough rejected the bids, which fell short of their £15m valuation.

Olley claims that Spence is therefore likely to remain in the Championship with Forest before joining a new club during this summer's transfer window.

The Englishman has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Riverside Stadium, meaning that Boro would not in a strong position to negotiate a high transfer fee this summer.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the right-back during the January window, but the Gunners are unlikely to sign him before the deadline.
