Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will reportedly offload Brazilian defender Andre Santos in January.

Arsenal defender Andre Santos will reportedly be axed by the club in January after a poor run of form.

The 29-year-old is expected to be dropped from Arsenal's starting side against Schalke on Tuesday and it is understood that he will be offloaded to Brazil, according to Goal.com.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has backed the defender in public, but reports have suggested that he has become frustrated with his performances and off-the-field antics.

The Brazilian was given a 12-month driving ban in September and was also criticised for swapping shirts with Manchester United striker Robin van Persie at the interval of their league clash on Saturday.

Fenerbahce are also said to be interested in re-signing the defender.
