Report: Everton to repel Arsenal's James McCarthy interest

A report claims that Everton will not sell James McCarthy to Arsenal in January.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is reportedly insistent that James McCarthy will not be sold to Arsenal in January.

It is understood that the Gunners are preparing a winter move for the Scotland international, who has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

However, according to The Mirror, Everton are not prepared to sanction a move to the Gunners, or indeed any other club.

McCarthy, who moved to Goodison Park from Wigan Athletic in 2013, is currently on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
