Report: Arsenal willing to treble Thomas Partey's wages

A report claims that Thomas Partey will be offered a contract of around £200,000 a week at Arsenal should he join from Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to triple Thomas Partey's current Atletico Madrid salary in order to tempt the midfielder to join this summer.

The Gunners held talks with the Ghana international earlier this year and are rumoured to be prepared to trigger his £44.5m release clause.

Partey is said to be prioritising a new deal at Atletico rather than moving to the Premier League, but Goal claims that Arsenal are ready to up the ante by trebling his weekly wages.

That would make the 27-year-old one of the highest earners at the Emirates Stadium, level with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on £200,000 a week but well behind Mesut Ozil's £350,000 salary.

Arsenal are not alone in showing an interest in Partey, however, with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich also believed to be in the running for his signature should he leave Atleti.
