Arsenal are reportedly planning to make an offer for Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer in January.
The Gunners' keeping responsibilities have been shared between Vito Mannone, Damian Martinez and Wojciech Szczesny so far this season.
Manager Arsene Wenger is understood to have concerns over the performances of all three, sparking rumours that he will enter the transfer market this winter.
Arsenal scouts watched Vermeer make his senior international debut for Holland in last week's 0-0 draw with Germany and, according to The Sun, the North Londoners fancy lodging a £5m bid for the 26-year-old.
Vermeer is under contract at the Amsterdam ArenA until June 2015.
