Spanish champions Real Madrid are reportedly lining up a summer swoop for Arsenal's Alex Song.

Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his midfield after wrapping up La Liga on Wednesday, with Song at the top of his shopping list, The Mirror understands.

Real have also set their sights on Rennes's defensive midfielder Yann M'Vila, who has been linked with Arsenal in the past.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is expected to try to keep Song at the Emirates next season, along with Robin van Persie, who has attracted the interest of Barcelona and Manchester City.

Van Persie currently has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract.
