Arsenal loanee Pablo Mari has confirmed his desire to earn a permanent move to the club this summer.
The 26-year-old joined the Gunners on loan from Brazilian side Flamengo in January, but the coronavirus-enforced shutdown has limited him to only two appearances for the club so far.
Arsenal have the option to buy Mari for £8m when his loan expires in June, and the defender is hopeful that his long-term future is at the Emirates Stadium.
"I already knew Arsenal was a massive club before I arrived. When you watch the Premier League when you are young, you look at Arsenal as an unbelievable team," Mari said during a Q&A on Reddit.
"I feel I have improved in my time here, and I hope we can agree a permanent move, as I am ready to fight for Arsenal."
Recent reports have suggested that Arsenal will be forced to focus on free signings and swap deals this summer due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
