Napoli agree deal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes?

Napoli reportedly emerge as favourites to sign Gabriel Magalhaes after agreeing a deal with Lille for the centre-back.

Napoli have reportedly agreed a deal with Lille for centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes.

Having impressed for the Ligue 1 outfit during the last two seasons, Gabriel has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League.

However, despite interest from the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton, it appears that the 22-year-old could be moving to Italy.

According to Foot Mercato, Napoli have been able to agree a fee of €22m (£19.91m) plus bonuses with Lille for the defender's signature.

Although other clubs could still make an official approach, Gabriel is said to have agreed a five-year contract with the Serie A outfit.
