Thomas Muller: 'Real Madrid shouldn't have sold Mesut Ozil'

Thomas Muller believes that Real Madrid should not have sold Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

Bayern Munich and Germany international forward Thomas Muller believes that Real Madrid have made a mistake in letting Mesut Ozil go.

The German playmaker joined Arsenal on a long-term contract from Madrid on transfer deadline day for a reported fee of £42.5m.

"I knew that Mesut was feeling very comfortable at Madrid," Muller told Bild. "But in football, things can happen quickly.

"Real threw everything overboard [this summer] - new coach (Carlo Ancelotti), new stars (Isco, Gareth Bale). I wouldn't have sold Mesut.

"However, I have the feeling that he is looking forward to a new chapter in his career at Arsenal."

Ozil played for Madrid for three years, winning La Liga and the Copa del Rey once each.
