Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mathew Ryan hints that he would be open to staying at Arsenal after his loan spell comes to an end.

Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mathew Ryan has seemingly opened the door for another stint at Arsenal following his recent loan spell.

The Australia international was demoted to the bench by Robert Sanchez in the Seagulls' dugout and ultimately joined the Gunners on a six-month loan in January, with Alex Runarsson struggling to impress.

Ryan only made three appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal - keeping one clean sheet at Newcastle United - but he has hinted that he would be interested in staying at the club for a little while longer.

The 29-year-old posted on Twitter: "Have had a blast with this last chapter experiencing all that's been involved in representing Arsenal. Have learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of it.

"To the many great people around the club whom I've had the pleasure of associating with, thank you for making me feel welcome and making the transition into the family a very easy one.

"I look forward to continuing the relationships well into the future. Excited for what the future will bring."

Ryan's contract at parent club Brighton expires next summer, and he boasts 27 clean sheets in 123 appearances for the South Coast club in all competitions.
