Olivier Giroud has 'no doubts' over Arsenal future

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud claims that he will do everything in his power to win back his starting place from Alexis Sanchez.

Olivier Giroud has vowed to return from the international break "even stronger" and fight for a starting role in Arsenal's first team.

The 30-year-old has yet to start a Premier League game for the Gunners, having slowly been integrated back into action after suffering a toe injury early in the season.

Giroud now faces competition from in-form Alexis Sanchez to reclaim his place up top, but the Frenchman is confident that he can win over manager Arsene Wenger when returning to club action next week.

"I do not have any doubts about my future at Arsenal," he told Telefoot. "There is always competition for places. There are a lot of attackers at every big club.

"At the moment, the coach prefers Sanchez up front, also because I have been injured. I just hope to get playing time again now. Alexis and I are different types of attackers and the coach has to make a decision. But I intend to come back even stronger."

Giroud played the full 90 minutes of France's 2-1 win over Sweden on Friday evening, despite boss Didier Deschamps claiming ahead of the match that the striker was lacking full fitness.
