Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits that the Cesc Fabregas situation will need to be "sorted out soon".

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has been omitted from the Gunners' squad competing in the Emirates Cup this weekend.

The 24-year-old has been left out of the majority of Arsenal’s pre-season fixtures, with the club claiming that the Spanish international has a hamstring problem.

"He is not settled, with his injury and his situation,” manager Arsene Wenger told reporters. "That has to be sorted out soon."

Reports suggest that the Spanish international has been edging closer to a move to Barcelona after an initial bid for the playmaker was turned down by the Premier League side.
