Arsenal have announced that goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has signed for Crewe Alexandra on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old was handed his fleeting opportunities in the senior team under Mikel Arteta in pre-season last year, and he soon signed his first professional contract.
Okonkwo has made the bench for Arsenal in the Premier League and Europa League, but he is yet to make his competitive debut for the Gunners.
The 6ft 5in shot-stopper will now garner more first-team experience out on loan at League Two side Crewe, which represents his first senior move away from his boyhood club.
A former England Under-18 international, Okonkwo is understood to be highly rated by Arsenal chiefs, and he has kept five clean sheets in 18 appearances for the Gunners' Under-21 team.
Okonkwo follows the likes of Mika Biereth, Marcelo Flores, Omar Rekik, Tyreece John-Jules and Auston Trusty out on loan from Arsenal for the 2022-23 season.
