Arsenal have reportedly targeted Lille’s Eden Hazard as a replacement for the Manchester City-bound Samir Nasri.
The 20-year-old Belgium international was voted Ligue 1 Player of the Year as Lille completed a league and cup double last season.
Arsenal have been monitoring Hazard all summer and are tempted to submit and offer before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, according to BBC Sport.
However, the French champions have insisted that the youngster will not be sold this campaign.
"Eden will not be leaving this season,” confirmed Lille general manager Frederic Paquet.
"We are aware of interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe but we are not prepared to sell.
"He is very happy here, he understands our project and wants to stay for at least another year."
Hazard’s contract with Lille runs until 2015.
