Arsenal hijack Tottenham Hotspur's move for Kevin Wimmer?

Tottenham Hotspur target Kevin Wimmer will be given the chance to join Arsenal over their North London rivals, according to reports.

Arsene Wenger is ready to hijack Kevin Wimmer's proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur by offering the FC Koln defender the chance to join Arsenal instead, according to reports.

Reports had recently suggested that the 22-year-old was on the verge of completing a £5m switch to White Hart Lane.

However, Wenger is understood to be interested in bringing Wimmer to the Emirates on the recommendation of Per Mertesacker, reports the Daily Star.

Wimmer joined the Bundesliga side from LASK Linz in 2012, and broke into the Austrian national side in 2013.
