Arsenal have signed Colorado Rapids defender Auston Trusty for an undisclosed fee, with the defender remaining with the MLS outfit on loan until the summer.
The Gunners have remained largely quiet in the January transfer window but have got a deal over the line for Trusty, who will officially link up with Mikel Arteta's side this summer.
The 23-year-old scored one goal in 33 appearances for the Colorado Rapids in the 2021 MLS season, playing the full 90 minutes in all of those games before suffering defeat to the Portland Timbers in the playoffs.
Arsenal fans will not get a glimpse of Trusty in the 2022-23 season, though, with the Gunners confirming that the 6ft 3in centre-back is set to go out on loan to a club in Europe to further his development.
Trusty previously plied his trade for the Philadelphia Union before joining the Rapids - a club under the control of Arsenal's owners KSE - in November 2019.
The former USA Under-23 international has registered a total of three goals and one assist in 96 MLS appearances so far, but he is still waiting for his debut for the Stars and Stripes.
