Sports Mole picks out its Premier League team of the week.

It was all about the relegation battle in the Premier League this weekend with some significant results involving teams down at the bottom of the table.

Aston Villa did their survival cause the power of good with a 3-1 win at Stoke City - a result that also dragged the Potters into the battle to stay up.

Meanwhile, Queens Park Rangers' hopes were dealt a cruel blow as they conceded in the dying seconds at Loftus Road to draw 1-1 with fellow strugglers Wigan Athletic.

Newcastle United earned three vital points with a late win over Fulham, but neighbours Sunderland saw their woes increase with a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.

Here, Sports Mole picks out the 11 players who earned their corn for their clubs.

Jussi Jaaskelainen (West Ham)
The veteran shotstopper had to be alert on numerous occasions at Anfield as West Ham came away from Liverpool with a hard-earned draw.

Matthew Lowton (Aston Villa)
Lowton put his hat in the ring for goal of the season with his outrageous strike against Stoke. Not only that, the youngster looked competent against the burly attack of the hosts.
Clint Hill (QPR)
It was ultimately a day of bitter disappointment for QPR, but Hill can be pleased with his committed performance during his side's 1-1 draw with Wigan.
James Tomkins (West Ham)
Tomkins and defensive partner James Collins were rocks at the back for the Hammers as they came away from Liverpool with a credible point.
Kyle Walker (Spurs)
It wasn't a game for either defence to be proud of, but Walker bombed up and down the flank with plenty of energy during Spurs' entertaining 2-2 draw with Everton.

Shaun Maloney (Wigan)
The Scot got his side out of trouble on Sunday with a last-gasp equaliser at QPR. It would be no surprise if he was the subject of a bid from elsewhere in the summer.
Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle)
Cabaye was typically tenacious in the middle of the park for Newcastle to help them claim a vital 1-0 victory over Fulham.
Thomas Rosicky (Arsenal)
The forgotten man at the Emirates Stadium bagged himself a brace on Saturday to see the Gunners home against West Brom.
Kevin Mirallas (Everton)
Mirallas scored another fine solo effort against Spurs to cap a threatening performance drifting in from the left flank.

Papiss Cisse (Newcastle)
The robust forward has a knack of scoring important goals and his strike against Fulham on Sunday was a reward for a tireless, persistent display.
Dimitar Berbatov (Fulham)
Cast your mind back to the start of the week and you will find the Bulgarian striker lighting up Craven Cottage with two goals in a 3-2 win over QPR.
