How Arsenal could line up against Burnley

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's Premier League meeting with Burnley at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal take on Burnley at the Emirates Stadium this weekend sitting just three places above their opponents in the relegation zone.

The Gunners have made their worst start to a top-flight campaign after 11 games since 1981-82 and cannot afford to slip up again on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta's men brushed aside Dundalk in the Europa League on Thursday evening, but the Spaniard made 11 changes for that match and will revert back to his strongest side against Burnley.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up at the Emirates Stadium.

Nicolas Pepe was one of the 11 new faces in Arsenal's lineup against Dundalk, but he is serving the last of a three-match domestic ban this weekend.

Thomas Partey is also absent after aggravating an injury against Tottenham Hotspur last week, while Reiss Nelson and David Luiz will be assessed ahead of the game.

Arsenal have badly struggled when it comes to goals this season, with Burnley one of only three sides to have scored fewer than the Gunners' 10.

Arteta may be tempted to tweak things again in attack, which could mean Alexandre Lacazette playing through the middle.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can no longer be assured of a starting spot, though he has scored more Premier League goals against Burnley than he has any other side in the competition - seven in five games.

With Partey ruled out, Dani Ceballos is expected to get the nod alongside Granit Xhaka in holding midfield.
