Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has accepted a Football Association charge for making an offensive gesture but will appeal any punishment that is handed to him.

The 21-year-old was charged on Tuesday for making "an offensive and/or insulting and/or abusive gesture" during his side's 6-3 defeat at Manchester City on December 14.

Wilshere is expected to be handed a two-match suspension by English football's governing body.

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Monday when they host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
