Jack Wilshere bemoans individual errors

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere admits that his side made too many individual errors during Saturday's 6-3 defeat to Manchester City.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that individual errors were to blame for his side's heavy defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday.

The Gunners went into the match with the best defensive record in the Premier League but shipped six goals to a rampant City, many of which saw the hosts win the ball in dangerous areas of the Arsenal half.

Wilshere was caught in possession in the build-up to one of the goals, and he admits that he is still unhappy with himself after making the mistake.

"Most of the goals were individual mistakes. I know I certainly am beating myself up about it and the other players I know will be disappointed," Wilshere told Arsenal's official website.

"We will learn from that individually and collectively. I think we were too stretched and the space between the defence and the midfield was too much. We have to tighten up a little bit."

The Gunners are now just two points clear at the top of the Premier League table going into next Monday's match against third-placed Chelsea.
