Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that he will not be looking to panic buy in light of his side's 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Ham United.
The Gunners lost their Premier League opener as unanswered strikes from Cheikhou Kouyate and Mauro Zarate guided the Hammers to all three points at the Emirates Stadium.
Petr Cech's £10m arrival from Chelsea has been Arsenal's only senior signing so far this summer, though they have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid's Karim Benzema.
Wenger told reporters: "I can only repeat what I've said - if an exceptional solution turns up, we will do it. I would like to think that we are responsible to buy the players and the coaches, not the media.
"We bought and still lost the game today. We listen to people but we have to focus on the quality of our performance."
Arsenal face Crystal Palace in their next Premier League clash at Selhurst Park next Sunday.
