Arsene Wenger: 'Arsenal can cope with Santi Cazorla absence'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger talks up the importance of Santi Cazorla to his side, but insists that they can cope in the Spaniard's continued absence through injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side can cope with the continued absence of midfielder Santi Cazorla.

Cazorla has been sidelined since injuring his Achilles during the 6-0 Champions League victory over Ludogorets Razgrad last month, and Wenger admitted earlier this week that there is still no timescale on his recovery.

Wenger talked up the importance of the Spaniard to his side, but believes that he has the strength in depth to work around the midfielder's absence.

"He's important to our technical stability in the team, to the quality of our decision making and to our build-up from deep midfield to the high midfield," Wenger told reporters.

"That's an important stage because it gets the ball out from the defenders. We have enough quality players in our side to get around that, even if Santi is a massive player for us."

Arsenal will take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday looking to extend their unbeaten run to 19 games in all competitions.
