Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he wants his side to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title next season.
The Gunners secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the campaign on Sunday when Laurent Koscielny earned them a 1-0 win at Newcastle United to claim fourth place.
The North Londoners finished the season 16 points behind champions Manchester United, but Wenger is hoping that Arsenal can take their momentum into next term to compete for honours.
"We want to do that next season. Let's not forget the consistency we've shown over the years in qualifying for the Champions League and knowing everybody is desperate to get in there," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"Consistency is the most difficult thing in our sport. We need it over the season. We have played against a very good Tottenham team, a very good Everton team and we needed to be really special to come back to get in front of them."
Arsenal's last 10 matches of the season saw them claim 26 points from a possible 30.
