Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery reveals that he has held talks with a number of Italian clubs and would be open to moving to Serie A in the future.

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hinted that his next job could be in Italy, but insists that he is open to managing in any of Europe's top five leagues.

The Spaniard has been out of football since being sacked by the Gunners in November, just 18 months after he was appointed as Arsene Wenger's successor at the Emirates Stadium.

Emery has also previously managed in La Liga and Ligue 1, and he revealed that he has already held talks with a number of clubs about a possible return to football.

"I coached for 16 years in a row, so decided to take a little rest to prepare for the project that most inspires me," he told TuttoJuve.com.

"I won't rule out any country: England, France, Spain, where I already worked, or Italy, which I've never worked in before. I did have some contact with several Italian clubs, but for one reason or another, it was not possible to work here.

"I am open to everything and keep a very close eye on Serie A. Out of respect and fairness, I will not name the clubs who contacted me in previous years."

Emery boasts a career win percentage of 53.7%, with his best figures coming at Paris Saint-Germain when he won 87 and lost just 12 of his 114 matches at the helm.
