Not even heavy snow could hold this weekend's Premier League action back. With key tussles at both the top and bottom of the table, Sports Mole picks out the 11 players who made their mark.

Tim Krul (Newcastle)
The big Dutchman made a string of fine saves against Aston Villa as the Magpies showed that they are serious about staying in the upper reaches of the Premier League.

Patrice Evra (Man United)
When United needed a goal against Chelsea, Evra was again a driving force down the left side.
Roger Johnson (Wolves)
The captain was at his stubborn best as Wolves notched up a vital win at fellow strugglers QPR.
Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal)
The Belgian didn't have too much to deal with against Blackburn, but he was a calming influence at the back for the Gunners.
Sebastien Bassong (Wolves)
An impressive debut from the on-loan Spurs defender helped Mick McCarthy's side pick up three points at Loftus Road.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)
Scoring his first league goals for the Gunners against Blackburn, the winger is quickly emerging as an explosive talent.
Andrew Surman (Norwich)
Has chipped in with a few goals for the Canaries this season, but few will better his thumping effort versus Bolton.
Danny Guthrie (Newcastle)
A typically tireless performance from the midfielder against Villa. The 24-year-old has benefitted from Cheick Tiote's absence at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Juan Mata (Chelsea)
Pulled the strings yet again for the Blues in their dramatic 3-3 draw with Manchester United. Rifled in a stinging volley past fellow countryman David de Gea to boot.

Robin van Persie (Arsenal)
Yet another hat-trick for the unstoppable striker. Showed class and craft for all three goals in the rout against Blackburn.
Papiss Demba Cisse (Newcastle)
While it was good to see Demba Ba back in the Premier League, Cisse's hardworking debut caught the eye. Has already been taken to Newcastle fans' hearts with his crisp goal.
