Jose Mourinho refuses to apologise to Arsene Wenger for "failure" jibe

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refuses to apologise for describing Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as a "specialist in failure" last season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to say sorry to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for calling him a "specialist in failure" last season.

The Portuguese coach made the comment in February in response to Wenger's claims that the Premier League title was Chelsea's to lose and any club who stated that their team were out of the race did so because they were scared of failure.

Throughout the 2013-14 campaign, Mourinho claimed that the Blues were not contenders for the league, despite eventually finishing third.

Today, when asked about the comment, Mourinho told reporters: "It was a consequence of something. It was not a deliberate first option to say something. I didn't get an apology. I don't apologise.

"You don't need to apologise. To go over it, to forget it and to move forward without thinking about what happened. We don't need that, finish, move and let's go for another match with big responsibility for both of us.

"We have the responsibility not to win, to give a good football match and for [the] millions of fans that both clubs have. No problems."

Chelsea and Arsenal will go head to head at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
