Lyon are reportedly interested in appointing former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as their new manager.

Lyon have reportedly expressed an interest in appointing Arsene Wenger as their new manager.

As a result of picking up just nine points from their opening nine Ligue 1 fixtures, Lyon have made the decision to part company with Sylvinho.

While Laurent Blanc has been linked with the position, Le Parisien claims that the French giants are keen on holding discussions with Wenger.

The veteran has been out of work since ending his long-term association with Arsenal at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, although the 69-year-old has previously indicated that he is open to a return to the dugout.

Wenger is also said to be in contention for a position with FIFA, leaving him to make a decision on his future in the coming days.
