Gabriel: 'Arsenal can win Champions League, Premier League'

Gabriel says that he and his Arsenal teammates can "make history" as he targets Premier League and Champions League glory.

Gabriel has claimed that he has no intention of leaving Arsenal until he has helped the North Londoners to Premier League and Champions League titles.

The Brazilian defender, 24, joined for £11m from Villarreal in January and did his bit as the Gunners won the FA Cup in May.

It was Arsenal's second successive FA Cup crown, and Gabriel says that it is time for Arsene Wenger's men to set their sights on bigger targets this time around.

He told the club's website: "On the first day I arrived here I felt something special. In reality, I think I always wanted to achieve the most important goals in the world and in the biggest competitions.

"When I got here, I saw that Arsenal have the ability to do it. We have great players to win the biggest competitions. I'm sure that me, my team-mates and everyone that works here will make history.

"I will have my name remembered here for my son and your sons to see that we won the Champions League, the Premier League, the best competitions, because Arsenal are capable of doing it."

Arsenal sit second in the Premier League table, two points behind Manchester City, and bottom of Group F after losing their opening two Champions League outings.
