Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has launched a bitter attack on Arsenal and their German attacker Mesut Ozil, claiming that the two complement each other because they both lack a backbone.
Cundy, speaking to talkSPORT, also branded Ozil 'the Premier League's most overrated player' before suggesting that the German international always goes missing in the big matches.
"For me, Ozil epitomises Arsenal, the two were made for each other," said outspoken Cundy. "He's pretty on the eye but when the bullets start flying he is nowhere to be seen.
"He's the kind of person that rocks up to a party when the cake is being cut and blows out the candles but isn't there to help set up or to help clean up after either."
Ozil, 28, has scored seven times in 13 appearances for Arsenal this season, which is just one short of the total that he registered in the entirety of the 2015-16 campaign.
Since arriving from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, the attacker has managed 27 goals in 130 appearances for the London club, claiming two FA Cup trophies in the process.
