Former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov reveals that he expects Unai Emery to succeed at Arsenal.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that he expects Unai Emery to succeed at Arsenal.

The Gunners last won the Premier League in 2004 and have failed to finish in the top four in the past two seasons, contributing to the exit of previous manager Arsene Wenger after 22 years at the helm.

However, Berbatov believes that Emery can bring success back to the Emirates and oversee the style of football for which the North London side are renowned.

"He's the right man for Arsenal to bring them to more success," Berbatov told the Evening Standard.

"I watched a lot of games when he was in charge of PSG and I liked the way his team was playing the ball around the pitch from the back with the keepers, through the defenders, midfielders and attackers.

"They always controlled the game and the ball was moving on the pitch not in the air and I think what he's going to do with Arsenal.

"He will be even better at Arsenal because Arsenal are always trying to control the game with short passes and moving together up the pitch, so it's a perfect place for him to develop his vision of the game and I think he's going to have success there."

Emery's first Premier League game in charge is at home against defending champions Manchester City.
