Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta confronted one of the club's supporters following their Premier League defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place following Arsenal's 4-2 victory at Stamford Bridge, which saw the Gunners move level on points with Tottenham Hotspur and five behind Chelsea in the Premier League table.
An Eddie Nketiah brace combined with goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka condemned Chelsea to a demoralising defeat, which sparked frustration from the home support at Stamford Bridge.
Azpilicueta got himself on the scoresheet to pull Chelsea level at the break, but following the defeat the Spaniard was shown confronting a fan.
The 32-year-old was seemingly upset with the complaints following the result and implored the fan to support the team as he was leaving the pitch.
Azpilicueta's boss Thomas Tuchel admitted he saw the confrontation, stating: "I saw it. Honestly, I can understand the fan."
Despite losing to the Gunners, Chelsea remain in third place - five points clear of Tottenham Hotspur in fourth spot - while they will also participate in the FA Cup final against Liverpool.
