Arsene Wenger opens door to Arsenal return

Arsene Wenger reveals that he would be open to returning to Arsenal if the Gunners need him.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he would be open to returning to Arsenal 'if he was needed'.

The Frenchman has not managed another club since leaving his post at the Emirates Stadium in 2018.

The 71-year-old is currently FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development, and it had appeared that his chances of ever returning to the dugout were over.

However, Wenger has said that he would be more than prepared to return to the Gunners if he was required.

"If I'm needed, I will help them, but I don't expect that, no," Wenger told NBC Sports.

The former midfielder managed Arsenal between 1996 and 2018, taking charge of more than 1,000 matches, winning three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.

The capital giants, now managed by Mikel Arteta, have largely struggled since Wenger's departure and are currently down in 13th position in the Premier League table.
