Arsenal aim to avoid going five games without a goal for the first time since 1990 when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers in Sunday's Premier League clash.

Arsenal will be aiming to avoid equalling a 32-year scoreless record when they do battle with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Thursday.

The Gunners have struggled for attacking inspiration since the turn of the year and are still winless in 2022 after playing five matches across all competitions.

Bukayo Saka's opener against Manchester City on New Year's Day is the only goal that Arsenal have managed to score in 2022, with Mikel Arteta's side drawing blanks against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool twice and most recently Burnley.

Should the Gunners fail to find the back of the net at Molineux on Thursday night, it will mark the first time since the 1989-90 season that they ave gone five games in a row without a goal.

George Graham's side drew three blanks against Queens Park Rangers in 1990, as well as going scoreless in clashes with Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic, before a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest ended that streak.

Arsenal enter Thursday's game sixth in the table - four points adrift of fourth-placed West Ham United having played three games fewer than their London rivals.
