Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. West Bromwich Albion

Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League encounter with West Bromwich Albion.

Arsenal must banish the nightmares of their heartbreaking European exit as they prepare to welcome West Bromwich Albion to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening in the Premier League.

Despite going close on a couple of occasions, the Gunners played out a goalless stalemate in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final with Villarreal on Thursday, with a 2-1 defeat in the first leg seeing them bow out of the continental tournament.

Mikel Arteta did oversee a 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in their most recent Premier League encounter, but the Gunners are languishing in ninth in the table and are five points adrift of the top seven as things stand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of West Brom.

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

David Luiz was taken off with a hamstring injury against Newcastle last weekend and was nowhere to be seen against Villarreal. The defender is making "very good progress" in his recovery, but the West Brom game will come too soon for him.

Granit Xhaka

Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Granit Xhaka was due to start against Villarreal before succumbing to a tight groin muscle in the warm-up. The versatile Switzerland international is now confirmed to be missing this game.

Pablo Mari

Status: Out

Possible return date: Unknown

Pablo Mari has been ruled out of Sunday's game after spraining his ankle against Villarreal, but the Gunners hope to welcome the Spaniard back to training next week.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Dani Ceballos was suspended for the Europa League second leg but is back here, meaning that Arsenal have no players banned for this contest.
