Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa receives glowing reccomendations from Arsene Wenger and Yohan Cabaye ahead of Euro 2012.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa to earn a place in France's starting lineup at this summer's European championships.

Wenger has claimed that Ben Arfa's recent form should be enough to attract Laurent Blanc's attention ahead of the tournament.

The Frenchman said: "On current form, you have to say Ben Arfa must be a starter at the Euros."

Ben Arfa's teammate Yohan Cabaye has also admitted that he hopes the winger will join him in the France squad.

Cabaye said: "I really hope he'll be in the 23 for Euro 2012. It's not my decision, but if it was I'd take him."

Newcastle are currently fifth in the Premier League.
