Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has urged club colleague Theo Walcott to put pen to paper on a new contract the Emirates.
Walcott's future with the Gunners remains in doubt, with the England international cutting an increasingly frustrated figure as a regular substitute.
The winger opened the scoring against Schalke on Tuesday night in his first start in this season's Champions League.
Wilshere admitted that he is desperate to see his international teammate extend his stay in North London beyond this season.
He said: "Theo's future is down to him and the boss to sort out. I hope he does sign because he has been great for us.
"He's an English lad and great to have around."
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger recently declared that he wants Walcott's future to be decided urgently, with rumours of a January bid from Liverpool gathering momentum.
