Jack Wilshere claims that there was never any love lost between Cesc Fabregas and Frank Lampard on the pitch.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has claimed that Cesc Fabregas and Frank Lampard "never liked each other" when they met on the football pitch.

Fabregas came up against Chelsea's Lampard on numerous occasions during his eight-year stint with the Gunners.

As the pair prepare to meet at Stamford Bridge this evening for a Champions League tie between the Blues and Barcelona, Wilshere has admitted that there was never any love lost between the two.

"I think Cesc would love to score tonight," Wilshere wrote on Twitter. "Him and Lampard never liked each other on the pitch!"

Both players have been named in their sides' starting lineups tonight.
