Player Ratings: South Korea 2-4 Algeria

Algeria eased to a 4-2 win over South Korea in World Cup Group H tonight in Porto Alegre.

The Africans stormed into a three goal lead before the break, adding another between a pair of Korean goals which gave them hope.

Below, Sports Mole rates the players who were involved.

Goal

Jung Sung-Ryong: Of the four goals, the second was probably the only one which he may have dealt with better, flapping from a corner and allowing Halliche to head home. (6/10)

Defence

Yun Suk-Young: Provided the cross which Kim Shin-Wook was able to nod down into the build up to their second goal. Not as impressive as he looked against Russia. (5/10)

Kim Young-Gwon: Out-paced and out-muscled for the first goal by Islam Slimani, before losing the same player as he set up the third. Poor mistakes. (5/10)

Lee Young: Anonymous as an attacking force before and after the break, despite the team improving as the game went on. Didn't track runners well as Algeria moved the ball down the left. (5/10)

Hong Jeong-Ho.: Shares the blame with Kim for the third Algerian goal. Like others, wasn't as assured as he looked against Russia last week either. (5/10)

Midfield

Son Heung-Min: Once again the most positive attacking Korean player. Took his goal excellently, selling two defenders a dummy before poking home through Raïs Mbolhi's legs. (7/10)

Koo Ja-Cheoi: Scored the second, following the play into the box and being in the right place at the right time. Tried hard to make things happen in attacking areas. (6/10)

Han Kook-Young: Beaten for fun in midfield during a poor opening 45 minutes. Improved slightly after half time but was certainly one of the lesser performers. (5/10)

Ki Sung-Yueng: Came close to scoring through a cross-come-shot which forced Mbolhi to tip over. Provided some decent dead-ball deliveries, which the Koreans only took advantage of once Kim was introduced. (6/10)

Lee Chung-Yong: Offered very little in support of attacks, and often a few yards behind Son when he looked positive. (5/10)

Attack

Park Chu-Young: Surprisingly kept his place in the side, and could struggle to do so again after another awful display. Gave the ball away far too often, with seemingly no ability to get into scoring positions. (4/10)

Substitutes

Lee Keun-Ho: Came on for Lee Chung-Yong after 57 minutes, providing the assist for Korea's second goal. Likely to start against Belgium in place of ex-Arsenal man Park. (6/10)

Kim Shin-Wook: Towering forward who gave South Korea an option in the box during the second half. Often won flick-ons in the area and had a hand in the second goal. (6/10)

Ji Dong-Won: Introduced 12 minutes from time, playing in Son which led to the Korean's appealing for a penalty. (5/10)

Goal

Raïs Mbolhi: Not at fault for either Korean goal. Made a couple of crucial catches as the Asians pressed for a third goal late on. (6/10)

Defence

Madjid Bougherra: Sold a dummy by Son for the first South Korean goal, the captain seemed to tire as the game went on. Rightly booked for a poor tackle. (6/10)

Rafik Halliche: Towering presence defensively, scored a brilliant headed goal from a corner to hand his side a 2-0 lead. Looked assured alongside Bougherra. (7/10)

Djamel Mesbah: Delivered a number of dangerous crosses, often finding teammates and causing Korea problems. (6/10)

Aissa Mandi: Never showed his inexperience in winning his third cap. Seemed at ease defensively and will probably keep his place against Belgium. (6/10)

Carl Medjani: Another who looked very good going forward whenever he got the chance to. Could maybe have done better on the second Korean goal. (6/10)

Midfield

Sofiane Feghouli: Played a key role in the fourth goal, which he set up for Yacine Brahimi. Travelled excellently with the ball, causing problems with his dribbling all night. (7/10)

Abdelmoumene Djabou: Showed great composure rolling in the third goal before half time. Displayed a nice range of passing whenever Algeria pressed. (7/10)

Nabil Bentaleb: The Spurs midfielder already looks an important part of the team, recycling the ball nicely and making some crucial interceptions. (6/10)

Yacine Brahimi: A driving force for the Africans, deservedly scoring the fourth goal to all but seal the three points. A brilliant one-two with Feghouli ended with him smashing into the bottom corner. (8/10)

Attack

Islam Slimani: Scored one, made one and was the best player on the pitch during the first half. Unlucky not to score before he did, but when he struck he took his goal excellently. (8/10)

Substitutes

Nabil Ghilas: Introduced for Djabou just after Korea scored their second. Unlucky with a header from a Mesbah cross, also winning balls defensively to help his team. (6/10)

Mehdi Lacen: Replaced Brahimi with 13 minutes to play. Had little impact in the middle of the park. (5/10)

Essaid Belkalem: On for Bougherra with a minute to play. (5/10)
