Asamoah Gyan confirms move to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan confirms that he has signed a two-year deal with Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has joined Chinese side Shanghai SIPG from Al-Ain for an undisclosed fee.

The striker has put pen to paper on a two-year deal that some reports suggest could see the former Sunderland frontman earn around £227,000 each week.

"I thank God for this special day, to my family, former teammates at Al Ain and to my fans," Gyan wrote on his official website.

"I reserve the rest of my comments for the official unveiling next week."

Should reports of his contract valuation be true, Gyan would potentially become one of the world's highest-paid footballers.
