Frank de Boer: 'Right time for Christian Eriksen switch'

Frank de Boer says that Christian Eriksen is ready to take the next step in his career by leaving Ajax.

Ajax boss Frank de Boer has admitted that the time has come for Christian Eriksen to take the next step in his career.

The 21-year-old Danish international is reportedly coveted by Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool after three impressive seasons in the Eredivisie.

De Boer, who has led the Amsterdam club to three successive titles since taking over in 2010, believes that Eriksen could flourish in one of Europe's top leagues.

"I think he would fit in well with any kind of football and perhaps now is the right time for him to take the next step [in his career]," Tuttomercatoweb.com quotes the 43-year-old as saying.

"With his technique and his style of play he could be even more dangerous in front of goal."

Eriksen already has 34 caps for his country.
