Ajaccio and Nice play out goalless draw

Ajaccio and Nice both fail to find a breakthrough as their Ligue 1 clash ends in a goalless draw.

Neither Ajaccio or Nice could break the deadlock in their Ligue 1 encounter this afternoon as they played out a 0-0 draw.

The visitors thought that they had taken the lead in the seventh minute when Christian Bruls scored with a diving header from a free kick, but his celebrations were cut short by the linesman's flag.

Bruls had a good chance to score a legitimate goal shortly afterwards when Valentin Eysseric did well to find the Belgian, but he curled his shot over the top.

Nice came close again just before the hour mark when Nampalys Mendy drilled a swerving shot goalwards that Guillermo Ochoa had to parry away. The ball fell to Dario Cvitanich, but the Argentine couldn't steer the rebound on target.

Adrian Mutu had a late sight of goal for the hosts having risen highest in the area to meet a cross, but his header flew wide of the post as the match ended goalless.
