Youngster extends AFC Wimbledon deal

Young midfielder Tom Beere signs a new contract with League Two outfit AFC Wimbledon.

AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that Tom Beere has signed a new contract with the club.

It has been a breakthrough season for the 20-year-old, who has made a total of 13 senior appearances.

"I am a massive fan of Tom. When I first came in Tom was one of the Under-18s who really stood out and Mark Robinson was bullish about him back then," manager Neal Ardley told the club's official website.

"The only thing we thought might stop him coming through was his physicality and we put him on a programme with Jason Moriarty. He has put on a lot of muscle mass since then and turned into someone who can handle the demands of League Two football."

The Dons have not disclosed the length of the midfielder's new terms.
