Ignazio Abate claims that he is happy at AC Milan and will continue to work hard to play regularly for the Rossoneri.

AC Milan defender Ignazio Abate has insisted that he is happy at the Italian club.

The Italy international full-back has been linked with a move to Russian club Zenit St Petersburg after struggling to impress for the Rossoneri this season.

"Leaving Milan? [Vice-president Adriano] Galliani received an offer for me but he told me that the club want me to stay put," he told Milan's official website.

"I have always worked hard for this club and behaved professionally and will continue to do so."

Abate re-signed for Milan from Torino in 2009.
