Kate Garraway's husband "fighting so hard" in battle with coronavirus

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway provides an update on the condition of her husband Derek Draper, who is battling coronavirus in intensive care.

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway has said that her seriously ill husband Derek Draper is "fighting so hard" in his battle against coronavirus.

The 52-year-old has now been intensive care for around 40 days after contracting COVID-19 and is thought to remain in a critical condition.

Writing on Instagram after her weekly 'Clap For Carers', Garraway said: "Derek is still with us, fighting so hard to beat this virus & everyday I am awestruck by how hard every member of the nhs team is fighting to turn things around & bring him ( & so many others) home to their loved ones.

"You are amazing - thank you thank you Sending love to you all in these terrible times."

Almost 4 million people worldwide have now tested positive for the disease.
