Kate Garraway FaceTiming seriously ill husband

Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway reveals that she is able to FaceTime her seriously ill husband Derek Draper.

Kate Garraway has revealed that she has been able to FaceTime her husband Derek Draper, who remains in intensive care with coronavirus.

The 52-year-old has now been in ICU for more than six weeks after contracting COVID-19 and is not thought to be conscious.

Nevertheless the Good Morning Britain host calls her husband daily to speak to him and, giving a fresh update on his condition on Thursday, she revealed that she is now also able to see him through FaceTime.

"So our #nhsclap was a little different tonight," she wrote on Instagram. "We still clapped & cheered as much as ever but I couldn't film on my phone as had Derek on FaceTime throughout!

"Of course we can't KNOW but I believe he can hear us & thought at least the incredible @nhs team's looking after him would hear a fraction of our gratitude."

More than 230,000 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in the UK.
