Great Britain's Rebecca Gallantree has admitted that the prospect of competing in the 3m springboard final at the World Championships was far from her mind when she went through the qualifying stages in Kazan today.
The 30-year-old, who won gold alongside Tom Daley in the mixed team event on Wednesday, secured a spot in the showdown by finishing eighth in the semi-finals.
"To be honest, I wasn't thinking about qualifying for the final," Swimming.org quotes Gallantree as saying. "I was just trying to enjoy it and not put too much pressure on myself and I think that really works for me.
"It feels pretty amazing but I'm also pretty tired because it's been a very hard morning, but I'm really chuffed."
Gallantree will contest for a medal in the final on Saturday.
