Great Britain's Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix wins the bronze medal in the women's 10m platform competition at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha.

Great Britain's Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix won her first senior individual medal at the World Aquatics Championships with a bronze in the women's 10m platform in Doha.

The reigning Commonwealth and European champion in the event, Spendolini-Sirieix scored 377.10 after five routines to sneak into the podium positions and clinch her second medal of the Championships.

The 19-year-old had already won team gold with Tom Daley, Daniel Goodfellow and Scarlett Mew Jensen, and she displayed exceptional consistency to cling onto third place right from the start.

Chinese 16-year-old Quan Hongchan - the reigning Olympic champion in the 10m platform - took the title with a mammoth total of 436.25, scoring four 10s on her fourth routine to win her first individual gold medal at the World Championships.

Chen Yuxi finished second behind Hongchan at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and also accepted the silver medal behind her compatriot in Doha, finishing 8.45 marks worse off with a score of 427.80.

Spendolini-Sirieix was one of two Britons in the women's 10m final alongside Lois Toulson, who slowly crept up the rankings as the competition progressed to place sixth with a total of 321.60.
