Hannah Starling leads English trio into diving finals

Hannah Starling is one of three English divers to seal their progression to the 3m springboard final at the Commonwealth Games.

Hannah Starling, Rebecca Gallantree and Alicia Blagg have all safely qualified for tonight's 3m springboard final at the Commonwealth Games.

Starling, 19, led the way for the English, qualifying in fourth place after scoring a five-dive total of 311.05 to seal her progression behind Australia pair Esther Qin and Maddison Keeney, while Canada's Jennifer Abel won the heat.

Blagg and Gallantree, who won gold in the 3m synchro earlier this week, took to the board individually and secured their passage to tonight's showpiece in sixth and 11th place respectively.

Emma Friesen of Canada and Tonga's Maria Zarka were the unlucky pair to miss out on qualification, finishing in the bottom two.
