Tom Daley fully prepared for battle with Matthew Mitcham

Tom Daley admits that he is expecting another battle for gold with Matthew Mitcham ahead of Saturday's 10m platform final at the Commonwealth Games.

Tom Daley has insisted that he is fully prepared for another battle with Matthew Mitcham ahead of Saturday's 10m platform final at the Commonwealth Games.

Australia's Mitcham and Domonic Bedggood beat Daley and James Denny to gold in the synchronised event on Friday evening, and the 20-year-old is certain that tomorrow's meeting will be another close contest.

"Matt's diving really well, he's obviously Olympic champion from 2008. It's going to be a battle," Daley told reporters. "He's only ever won silver medals at Commonwealth Games, and that was his first gold.

"He's going to be hungry for another gold, but so am I. It will be a good battle."

Daley is looking to add to the 10m platform title he won in Delhi four years ago.
