Gary Anderson stunned by Ian White at World Grand Prix

World champion Gary Anderson is out of the World Grand Prix after losing 3-1 to Ian White in Dublin.

Gary Anderson has become the latest seed to bow out of the World Grand Prix after he suffered a 3-1 defeat to Ian White in the last 16.

After hitting back to level the match at 1-1, Anderson saw White reel off the next two sets as the world number two joined Phil Taylor, James Wade, Adrian Lewis and Peter Wright in exiting the tournament before the quarter-finals.

White will play Robert Thornton in the last eight after the Scot eased to a 3-0 victory over Justin Pipe in the opening match of the night.

Mensur Suljovic followed up his surprise triumph over Wade on Monday by whitewashing former World Championship finalist Simon Whitlock.

The Austrian will meet Vincent van der Voort for a place in the semi-finals after the Dutchman made light work of Terry Jenkins, eventually prevailing by a 3-0 scoreline.
